In Revelation 21: 1-5 we read of the glorified Church, made up of those who have successfully traversed this mortal life, kept the faith and will receive their promised reward.  As one writer put it, “The heavenly state is one in which God dwells with His people and is their God.  Note the no mores in this passage” (Jackson).

In verse 4 we read of these “No Mores”.  “God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:  for the former things are passed away”.  The scripture then declares, “Behold I make all things new” (vs 5).  Heaven is a wonderful place.

In this mortal life we will all experience heartache and troubles both spiritual and physical.   Some will experience these challenges more often and more deeply than others.  As Christians, we must be assured that God is with us and that we may find comfort in Him (2nd Cor. 1:3-5).  We must also remember that even when facing death, it is the faithful Christian who may exclaim “O death where is thy sting? O grave where is thy victory?” (1 Cor. 15:55).

The Christian life is a blessed life, in this world and in the world to come! There are no tears in heaven. Contemplate it.
