In 2 Chronicles 2:4-5 we read of the preparation of Solomon for building the House of God. Of this he said to Huram, King of Tyre; “And the house which I build is great: for great is our God above all gods” (vs 5). The Psalmist addresses the greatness of God in this way: “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God” (Psalm 90:2).
In the New Testament there is similar declaration and revelation. In Acts 17:24-25 the scripture records: “God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands as though he needed anything, seeing He giveth to all life, and breath , and all things;”. Further in verse 28 of the same chapter the scripture says; “For in Him we live and move and have our being;”
Ephesians 4:6 states that there is “One God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in you all”. Jesus declared His father to be the “only true God” (John 17:3). There truly is none greater than our God and we must always remember that He is “not far from every one of us” (Acts 17:27).
