In Romans 12:1-2 inspiration beseeches us (calls us near) to present our bodies a living (not dead as in the bulls and goats of the old law) sacrifice holy, (pure or blameless) acceptable (well pleasing) unto God which is our reasonable (rational or logical) service.

The sacrifice which we offer to God in this Christian dispensation is not dead animals but rather our very lives.  We must love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30).  That which we offer to God must be acceptable to Him and not according to our own form of righteousness (John 4:24; Rom. 10:3).

When we consider our service to God do we believe that it is reasonable for God to require this of us? Do we consider that this service is for our good?   Do we understand that presenting our bodies as a continual offering to God is a logical response to a loving God who has bought us (1st Cor. 6:20)?   As we mature in the faith we will find it both reasonable and logical for us to offer this sacrifice.  For it is in Him that we live, move and have our being (Acts 17:25-28).
