In Matthew 3:16-17 we read of the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist.  At His baptism, “the heavens were opened unto him and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting upon Him and lo a voice from heaven saying this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased” (vs. 17).  John saw and bare record that this is the Son of God (John 1:32-34).

When reading the New Testament we see that at major milestones in the establishment of Christianity God revealed himself from heaven.  Consider the transfiguration emphasizing the new way (Mark 9:7); Pentecost and the establishment of the Church (Acts 2), and Cornelius, the first Gentile convert (Acts 11:15).  Further consider the pubic nature of the miracles (Matt. 14:13-21) and the resurrection (1 Cor. 15:1-6).  As Paul would say to King Agrippa, these things were not done in a corner (Acts 26:26).

No other religion has originated and been sustained in such a powerful and public way.  Though they claim equivalence they are not. Truly ’there is none other name under heaven, given among men whereby we MUST be saved” (Acts 4:10-12). Jesus Christ and his one Church are the ONLY way to salvation (Eph. 5:23).

Keep the Faith.
