In Isaiah 64:4 we read; “For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen O God, beside thee what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for Him”. This truth is further stated in 1 Corinthians 2:9 “For as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath entered the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.”
From these passages we can see that the ways and magnificence of God can only be truly seen by his revelation to us. We cannot simply make him up through our senses or imagination. What he has chosen to reveal to us by the scripture (1 Cor. 2:13) and our careful contemplation of His greatness in the things that are made (Rom. 1:20) enable us to know God. If we will wait (tarry or long for) and love Him, we will enjoy the blessings of God.
How often do we take the time to contemplate the greatness and blessings of God, Jesus Christ and His Church? Do we truly long for Him and love Him, demonstrating the same in our service and obedience? We should.
