In the 21st chapter of Revelation, John is shown the holy city adorned as a bride (vs. 2).  In verse 9 John is told to “come thither, I will show thee the bride, the Lambs wife” (the glorified Church).  This describes the abode of the Lamb and God (vs. 22), the great city and the holy Jerusalem (vs 10).  This heavenly city is then described by all things which man admires as beautiful – precious stones and metals (vs. 11-21).  Verses 23 and 24 say that there is no need of outside light because the Lamb (Jesus) is the light.  The Scripture then says in verse 24 that “the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it.”  That my friends describes those of us who have been added to the Church, the bride of the Lamb.

Yes brethren, we are promised to walk in the light (Jesus) in the beautiful city, as the glorified Church, a saved people, written in the Lambs book of life (vs. 27).  What a great and precious promise; a promise that will help us through troubling times, weariness, and discouragement.

Let us protect our inheritance by being faithful.
